Studio I Fall '07 | In Situ National Monument

An up-to-date program and structure was needed to replace a historic but unsalvageable building. The Bentonite-based soil and 2 separate ground planes presented a unique challenge. The vertical fossil bed required protection as well as interesting viewpoints for visitors. The double wrap wall provided this protection in addition to day lighting opportunities.
